GRANT CATALINO

CO-FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

Grant, a 4-year starter on Attack while attending the University of Maryland, has embraced his role not only as an All-American, but as a role model for all players.  A 2011 team captain, Catalino proved to be an outstanding leader for the Maryland Terps, and arguably the best shooter in the country.

He maintained a 3.44/4.00 GPA in Finance in the Robert E. Smith School of Business, which was ranked No. 9 among all public universities by U.S. News & World Report. Other academic accomplishments include; 2x Academic All-American; Dean’s list: 2008-2011; ACC Academic Honor Roll: 2007-2011; Athletic Directors Honor Roll: 2008, 2009, 2011; and a member of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

MICHAEL CATALINO

CO-FOUNDER & CHAIRMAN
Michael played five years at Duke University (2005-2010), and was consistently one of the top-six Midfielders. He also took face-offs, played extra-man, was a potent inside shooter, and was the first ever 4-time Academic All-ACC award winner, which takes into account both academic and athletic performance. But his efforts didn’t end there.  Michael not only was an asset both on and off the field, consistently putting in extra time in the weight room, shooting, working on stick skills, and being a mentor for underclassmen.  His team contributions were emphasized though leadership, courage, integrity, and character. Michael worked tirelessly and selflessly to understand the dynamics of his team, in the end, to also understand how he and his teammates could overcome multiple failed attempts at the National Championship. Duke was a good team, but Michael knew they could be great.

As his coach would later say, “Michael’s “clear and clean” philosophy for interacting with teammates allowed him to will others in a moral ethical direction… [He] understands how precious time is as well as how easily time can be lost. Michael was always the first out to practice and the last to leave…[Also] he is not afraid to push against the tide a bit and speak up for [his teammates]. It is this caring nature, along with his “clear and clean” honesty, that allowed him to become the ultimate team player.”

Michael graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Anthropology and Anatomy, with a 3.66/4.00 GPA, and a Master of Science in Global Health, with a 3.68 GPA. Michael will continue his studies at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. Catalino has volunteered in a hospital in South Africa, taught at an elementary school in rural Vietnam, and spent time in Honduras doing public health research and volunteering.
